Why we love Retro Racing
Retro Racing is a perfectly pocket sized, awesome mobile racer. The 16-bit inspired style translates really well to mobile devices, it's fast, fun and requires the perfect amount of skill to tear around the courses. The track designs are exceptional with secret routes, obstacles and pickups scattered throughout. The game has a really solid feel, the scale, speed and visibility are perfect (very important aspects in a top down racer!). It's not overloaded with 'juice' (which feels perfect for this!) it's fun and quick and a beautiful example of the style.
Favourite moments
- Screaching round corners
- Discovering a 'perfect' route round a course
- Achieving 5+ pickups on accel, top speed and tyres
- Playing two player
- Realising (again!) that you actually have to let off before corners?
- The detailed, retro inspired graphics
- Discovering the developer worked on some awesome titles from the golden age of gaming!
Retro Racing is an excellent game, it's fast, fun and stuffed full of replay value - buy it!
